Peyronies and exerciseI've had Peyronie's for about 2 years. I'm 58. The condition seems to have stabilised and fortunately I'm still sexually active. I'm also an active mountaineer, marathon runner and cyclist. Peyronie's onset coincided with a period of hard training in 2000.
My question: I believe there is a suspected link between PD and auto-immune weakness. Is there any evidence of correlation of PD with ongoing vigorous exercise? Should I take it easier?
Re: Peyronies and exerciseI've had Peyronies for about a year, and like you it seems stabelized..I'm 57 years old. ..I've been a mild (not marathon) runner for about 30 years...in the last year (since the occurance of Peyronies) I coincidentally greatly reduced my running regime to about once a week....with 45 min. mountain hikes in the morning with my wife about 3-4 times a week. My Peyronies seems to be abating slightly...just an observation...but who knows, it could be connected.....good luck ....my vote would be to keep exercising ...but not quite so vigorously.
Re: Peyronies and exerciseNot to my knowledge, Peyronies is actually fairly prevalent.
Re: Peyronies and exerciseI am 36 years old, and I have had PD for about 10 months (around 01.03.07) - I started training for a Marathon around 01.12.06.
I have mentioned to my brother (who is a doctor) if there could be a link between intense training and PD - he says there is not. But I do not feel so sure. Especially after reading that others have experienced PD has started evolving after a period with hard training.
