Peyronie's disease

Post a new topicby Harrinder Sng on Sat Jun 14, 2008 10:06 am

I have been diagnoised Peyronies disease by a senior Urologist and he has recommended me Tamoxifen 10 mg daily alongwith E cod containing Vitamin E and omega 3 capsule daily. From the net I have seen that Tamoxifen is given for breast cancer patients. Please advise as I feel as if a wrong treatment is given to me or I am having cancer though only physical examination was done by the doctor .

There is a great deal of speculation and poor understanding of the genesis and epidemiology of Peyronies even among Physicians. To a great extent, it seems to be an enigma, with a lot of people trying many unconventional ways to treat it. I have never heard of Tamoxifen, which is an estrogen inhibitor, being used for peyronies. It sounds a bit "out there" to me.
My personal choice has been to go with high dose vitamin e, and regular gentle longitudinal traction using a commercially available traction device. There are several on the market.
Good luck
