Recurrent Peyronie's Disease

Post a new topicby Guest on Sun Jun 03, 2001 12:12 pm

I am 37 years old. I first diagnosed Peyronies 2 years ago when I had a very painful lump in midline of my penis. Since time I have had 5 more lumps develop. Each time lump starts out to be very painful an erection in time pain lessens. I have very little bending from lumps only slight problems maintaining an erection. My question, is re anything know of could cause problem to keep coming back? I am Testosterone difficient due to long term morphine use is prescribed to me a failed 3 level spinal fusion. I receive morphine through an intracal pump as well as orally. I have been told by my pain doc he sees many cases of peyronie's in his patients have narcotic induced hypogonadism Has re ever been a study in Peyronie's patients to establish ir Testosterone levels? Is it possible low testosterone could weaken penile tissue causing it to tear n scar? I thank taking time to answer question.I appreciate r site. It's a great tool people out here who in need of answers. THANK !

Your theory is reasonable, but I suspect the process is even more complex. I am not aware of such a relationship or any studies in that regard, as we usually do not treat too many cases of hypogonadism ( we send them to the endocrinologist). Why not try a web search and see what is out there?
