Post a new topicby Guest on Sun Sep 15, 2002 2:28 pm

I have peronies for 2 years and have been taking viagra to get satisfaction in intercourse. The peronies has not worsened and I think is now repairing, however I can't get a erection without the viagra.
I now want to have a vasectomy but given my problems is this wise, my wife is very understanding and we make love whenever, but condoms have become an incumberance and I feel she and I need spontinaity in our sex life.
I would like to have the vasectomy but feel with the erection problems I may become incapable,
can anyone answer this?

I do not think anyone can give you a definitive answer on how a vasectomy might influence your individual sex life.
However, many of us that have seen vasectomy complications are somewhat more likely not to encourage the procedure in folks who have any doubts whatsoever.
Your urologist should be helpful in discussing your individual concerns.

In general, patients after a vasectomy often report improved sexual performance because they can do away with the condoms and not worry about contraception. It will have no impact on the curvature either way. Of course, any individual can vary in their response to a procedure on the genitalia so it's a good idea to discuss this thoroughly with your urologist.
