Re: vitamin bI cannot find anything on a Medline search re the B vitamins and Peyronie’s disease.
PABA is considered part of the Vitamin B complex, however. Perhaps posting on our AlternativeMedicineChannel.com will get you some useful information in that regard.
i've been taking vitamin e for what i think is a mild case of pd. it seems to be helping...
Re: Re: vitamin bThere is too little paba (i.e. Potaba) in a vitamin b complex formula available over the counter to be of any good. Typical amounts are just 100 mg, maybe less, whereas you need 120 times this amount per day to reach the recommended levels of paba to treat Peyronies.
If you want to utilize a vitamin b in treating Peyronies, then you will need a doctors prescription for Potaba. Some say that taking Vitamin E will help. Vitamin E is a great vitamin to take, but much more than 3 pills of 400 IU's is getting pretty high and, over time, could be toxic. Many (perhaps most) urologists are not very convinced that either Potaba or Vitamin E helps. In many cases, Peyronies will reverse itself or stop progressing with or without any treatment. I am not aware of any controlled studies that show conclusively that either vitamin E or Potaba are all that effective. But, Potaba is well tolerated by the body, and Vitamin E (except in high doses) is a great vitamin to take, so such treatment sure can't hurt.
