Re: Im scared I dont know what to do!!!I have recently gone through treatment for Pca. I understand what you are going through. You need to find a good urologist who can do a biopsy. Choose one who can do a biopsy with a local pain blocker and ask them to take samples in a regular pattern so you end up with a good idea of the health of the prostate. Biopsies are not without risk. So make sure the doc gives you an adequate amount of antibiotics usually three days worth.
You may also try a more expensive alternative using a 3 Tesla MRI machine with an endorectal coil. There are very few of these machines around. I had this done at the Diagnostic Center for Disease (http://www.mrisprostatecancercenter.com/about-s.html). There are other places in the country who do this type of exam. It was not covered by insurance. I would urge to take some action as a doubling in PSA is not a good sign. Remember this is a treatable cancer with the toughest decision to make is which effective treatment to choose. You may want to look at this blog: http://panajar.blogspot.com
