advanced prostate CAHi,
My father is diagnosed with prostate cancer 4 years ago when he was 66 with a PSA of 50. In the bone scan it it shown that cancer has spread to all bones. We begun Casodex, Lupron and Zometa. Also he had some radiation therapy for the bone metastasis. His PSA dropped in some months but after 18 months it begun to rise again. We had ketakonazole but it was no use. The doc said he had to have chemo but instead I took him to China for gene therapy with a PSA of 35. After two months of gene therapy and HİFU when we were back to home his PSA was 0.86 and since then it was always low. But two months ago it begun to rise again and now11. So, we didn't use hormone therapy since about 1.5 years. Now will it be useful to begin hormonotherapy again ? Or what is our alternatives? He is in a good condition. Works 10 hours physically everyday. Sleeping and eating good. What will yuo recommend us? We are from Turkey. I can take him anywhere for treatment.
Re: advanced prostate CAAs it has spread, I agree with your doctor, chemo.
I know many people who have "gone through" chemo and are fine--two over 20 years. They improve Chemo daily. Dubai is close by, I understand they have the newest and best facilities around. MD Andersen is there (I think). Turkey is wonderful.....I bought a beautiful hand made rug, so I think of the great visit I had all the time. Much luck to your dad!
