I just reciently had a UTI during my time with the antibotics I had a physical done. The blood work came back as elevated white and platelets. Also my PSA was at 9.6.
The reading I have done kind of leads me to believe that the infection could be giving me this high level on my PSA. The doctor took more blood and I am waiting for the results.

Yes. Any breach of the urethral lining, be it from inflammation or trauma, can cause PSA to "leak" into the serum from the urinary tract. Remember that the urine is very high in PSA, which is produced in the prostate and the glands of Littre and glands of Morgagni. That is why after radical prostatectomy the urinary PSA can be measured in serum if htere is infection and/or trauma. This urinary PSA comes from teh glands of Littre and glands of Morgagni.

Can I suggest you see another Dr. If he did not know the infection caused the raised PSA he needs retraining, additionally he should have waited 3 months before doing another PSA.
