Re: elevated psaThere are multiple non cancerous reasons for an elevated PSA, including infection and inflammation of the prostate, also ejaculation before testing can cause an elevation. You could consider another test in 4 weeks to see if it has gone down and if not get the biopsy then, However the plan for a biopsy is not unreasonable and the most conservative thing to do.

Re: elevated psaHi I am just updating again, I have had 2 p.s.a. test since my surgery in September and they were at 2.3 and 2.9. I am now seeing a radiation oncologist and will be starting radiation on Thursday, as well they have started me on harmonal therapy. I have been diagnosed with locally advanced prostate cancer.
