Lupron

Post a new topicby Butch on Thu Jun 04, 2009 11:00 am

Does anyone know if Lupron will cause fatigue and leg and back pain? I have been on Lupron for over 20 months. Fatigue and pain are getting worse.

I'm sure you've found your answer, but I did ask a friend who is presently on Lupron, and he says he is really tired, and the doc told him it would make him 20% more fatigued. He says he has night sweats, hot flashes, mood swings, guess both of you will be more tolerant of the girls after this....this will be over, and life will be back to normal, hang in there.

He doesn't have the pain though.

I had a shot of Eligard (45 mg) on April 20. Hot flashs are a given, but I never thought of fatuige as a side effect. Today I was thinking how tired I was and how hard it was to get up the energy to cut the grass. I am wondering now after reading this post if eligard is affecting me has lupron is affecting you.

I was just searching eligard and I am amazed at the side effects. And fatique is definitely one of them. I needed ot cut the grass this afternoon but I felt so tired. I have been an active backpacker for years and the thought went through my head- I could never do many miles today- I am just so, so, so.... lethargic....

Now I understand why. And hot flashes off and on all day/all night! I refer to it as the 4 minute flu.

Testicules are about gone, I'm tired, hot flashes, leak most of the day, and I still have cancer!

Welcome to the golden years!

And I am only 60.

I am right there with you. 58 years old with advanced prostate cancer. I have alwaus been very active. This Luopron has slowed me down quite a bit. Been on Lupron now for about 2 years. Weight gain of over 30 lbs. Feel like the Pillsbury dough boy. :O) My testicles have just about disappeared too. Oh well.... I am alive and kicking, praise God for that. One day at a time. :O)

I have only been on the eligard for just over 2 months. Before that I lost over 10 lbs but I see I have picked up 3 or 4 lbs the last few weeks. I didn't connect the weight gain to the eligard. I am going to be much more careful about calories for now on. This is a good bit of information.

2 years!! You have my sympathy, but I wonder if 2 years from now if I might be in the same place you are right now.
