prostate cancer

Post a new topicby enatatyana on Tue Jul 08, 2008 11:26 am

I am a 46 years old white male..Recently I was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer Gleason Score = 6, PSA in May 4,6 in June 3,9 . My urologist/surgeon suggested to go for Radical Prostatectomy. My urologist took 10 samples , 1 sample vas positive.DO I need this operation? If so, is operation better than radiotherapy? How about laparoscopic prostectomy as I heard reently?
Are there any other tests recommended at this time and how long could he wait before treating this type of cancer? Can an MRI or CAT scan be more effective than biopsy for determining cancer in the prostate? Should I ask for another biopsy?
Thank you
