trouble urinating after seed implant

Post a new topicby clark85 on Thu May 01, 2008 12:18 pm

My father had seed implants for his prostate cancer He has had a very diffucult time with pain and he can not urinate. He had the implants in mid Febuary. He has had a catheter inserted 4 different times. Each time the doctors remove it, that night we end up at the ER to have it put back in. The doctor left the last one in for three weeks but after removal that night we had to take him to the ER to have it put back in. Has anyone had this happen to them? I am trying to find some light at the end of a very dark tunnel. My Mom and Dad are getting very depressed so if anyone has any help I would greatly appreciate hearing from you. Thanks

If his Dr is unable to correct the problem, he should consider a second opinion. Consult your local Support Group for advice.
Good luck.

Would like to get a second doctor to look at him but they don't want to see someone under another doctors "care". I don't know of any support groups in the Knoxville, Tenn. area. Things are not looking very good. Please pray for Dad! Thanks

There must be some kind of Support Group, as at the Urology Dept of your major Hospital. It generally advised by Drs worldwide to seek a second opinion, and always go for 'the best'. Surely there must be many to consult in Knoxville, if not go to a major city near by as I did. Don't be discouraged!
All Prostate patients are in my prayers.
