Medication Acute bacterial prostatitis is treated with antibiotics such as flouroquinolones (e.g., Levaquin®) and trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole (e.g., Bactrim®, Cotrim®) administered intravenously, followed by a course of oral antibiotics.
