prostatis

Post a new topicby BBtree on Mon Aug 24, 2009 8:17 am

Im 32 and for the last 10 months have been experiencing constant pain in my testicles, the pain can come and go from mild to severe but in general i can always feel something nagging, its almost like a painful toothache but in my testicle, the pain can go from left to right and vice versa the pain generally gets worse in the evenings, its uncomfortable to sleep at night and sitting in the car or at work can increase discomfort. At first when it started it would just be now and again it kinda peaked in pain 2/3 months in where i was in unbelievable agony, it has since not been as painful.
I've been to see the doctors, i've had several urine and blood tests & a scan and no bacterial infection was found i've also had several blood tests again with negative findings i've been on a course of alpha blockers now for some time... and these seem to prevent the pain from getting totally unbearable ~(although im not sure they 're not just working as a placebo). Im now waiting for a letter to see a urologist and my doctor (who is a specialist in the male reproductive system) has advised me that he will probably not find anything which he hasn't (im obviously trying to be more optimistic). he's also suggested i get my prostate massaged, which sounds horrible but if it works/helps then great.
Im wondering if there's anyone with a similar story or perhaps someone with some more knowledge on this type of condition i kinda feel like my doctor hasn't done an awful lot over the last 10 months. Its getting to a point where Im starting to experience real low points in my life due to the painfulness of the condition and i'm genuinely an optimistic bloke. Could i have prostatis could it be cpps and is there any advice on what i should be asking of the urologist when i see them.
i hope someone out there can help pass on some advice as its difficult explaining to someone who doesn't understand what im experiencing.
thanks
