Quality of Life ruined; Doctors unable to help. Help please!

I am 24 years old and have been suffering from a degenerative prostate disorder for 8 months now. I have seen two specialists, and both are unable to help. They think that I have prostatitis but I have only responded slightly to their treatments. Inevitably, the treatments seem to start to work for about 2 weeks and then it's as though I'm not taking any treatments. I have tried antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, tricyclics, flomax, saw palmetto, generic quercetin, prostate massage, and a cystoscopy revealed nothing. I will receive the results on a PSA test soon. I feel exhausted, unable to sleep, barely able to work. I had to quit my job (which was somewhat physical) and am now a self-pay patient. I am running out of money and energy to spend on this condition and have little medical hope for the future. Please, I ask anyone qualified to comment on this to please do so. I am unable to fully empty my bladder and I have extremely poor quality of sleep. I also have been experiencing strange sexual side effects.

Jon,

I feel your pain. I am 47 and have had Prostatis now for 5 years. It started out once or twice a year and now comes much more frequently and for longer periods. It is very painful in the pelvic region just about where the prostate is located. The pain and discomfort can spread to my testicles, penis and rectum when I sit a lot. Now I am starting to feel it in the backs of my legs. I have trouble sleeping too and have difficulty having positive sexual experiences with my wife. Erections can come and go and are difficult to maintain. I am looking for a cure, but no one seems able to help. Hot baths help relieve the pain, but it is a temporary fix. Antibiotics no longer work like they did during the early stages. There are more of us out here than you can possibly imagine. You would think that the urologists would be working to find an effective treatment for this disease.
