Recurring Hematospermia

Post a new topicby JJ3 on Tue Dec 18, 2007 1:16 pm

I've had hematospermia probably nearly a dozen times over the past seven years (I'm 22 now), including twice in the past six months. It usually lasts for at least a week, for as long as several weeks (right now it's lasted for maybe two or three)... in the past it's gone away with antibiotics, and in other instances it's resolved on its own before I became worried enough to head back to the doctor. Occasionally a very small amount of blood enters my urine as well, but I've seen a urologist (twice) and had an ultrasound (once, two years ago), and the official word is that this is just something that happens.

I've never heard of this happening to anyone else, though, and I can't help but be concerned at the frequency with which the problem recurs. There aren't any other symptoms--not really any discomfort other than seeing (more than just a little) blood. Is this really something I should just write off as "one of those things"? Does this happen to anyone else? I'm living abroad (not really in a place with easy access to doctors), and it'd be reassuring to hear some kind of second opinion...

Thanks!
