Over the course of the last week, I have been experiencing an itchy feeling in my urethra. I have also noticed that my urine has a rather strong smell to it. My first inclination is to belive that it is simply a common infection. The last time I was sexually active was around 2.5 months ago. Protection was used and I have not noticed any type of discharge. I will likely try to see my doctor in the coming week, however, I am interested to know if there are particular infections that are generally responsible for such symptoms. Could the aforementioned symptoms be an indication of an STD like chlamydia(SP?)? Would basic urine cultures detect such an STD?
