Long Term Effects of Chlamydia

Post a new topicby tedtoday on Wed Sep 24, 2008 9:03 pm

Hello

I live in the UK. I'm 21. I was diagnosed with Chlamydia last year after having it for two years. (when I was 18). I had painful joints and painful urination but my Doctor never put two and two together, initially. I was treated for it but the pain remained - I was told the pain should subside but it didn't, so I was treated again. The pain remained. Painful urination, painful ejaculation and occasionally sore testes.

I was given several antibiotics and none of them relieved pain and if they did it was only effective for a day or two. Doxycycline, Erythromycin and Norfloxican, all for several weeks if not months. Tried Ibuprofen, three times a day for three months, to no avail.

I had a cystoscopy which showed no damage and they suggested no further treatment and said it was probably a bout of prostatitis My Doctor gave me Norfloxican given for a month or so, which gave no relief.

I've been to 6 Sex Clinics and I've been tested for every STI under the sun and I'm "definitely negative" for all of them, as they've said.

Symptoms: Painful urination, painful ejaculation (which lack of enjoyment during orgasm), short stinging, usually after urinating, teste pain, a swollen penis tip opening, split stream of urine/sperm, lack of pressure when peeing (though they said there is no stricture and that my flow is strong, but it's much weaker than it was before).

My doctor has pretty much said "There's nothing wrong with you, there's nothing more we can do." But it's causing my life hell. I drink at least 2 litres of water a day, plenty of cranberry juice and other fruit juices. I don't drink alcohol at all, I try to avoid milk and don't drink caffeinated drinks.

I have hemorrhoids, but they've came and went for years - but lately they've been worse (but no change to my diet). I don't know what I'm checking with with my prostate - it isn't particularly swollen or tender - I've had my prostate checked twice (digital rectal exam) with nothing seeming unusual. No check of my semen has ever been made - or my urine after ejaculation to check for retrograde ejaculation.

Any advice would be fantastic. I have very little faith in my Doctor's and it's causing my life hell. It's been dreadful over the last two years. And as I said, it was well over a year ago I was treated for it - so you think the healing would have started and it wouldn't be more painful than it was a year ago? I've been back and forth and they keep saying "What do you want US to do?"

More recently I've been getting a painful little bit of, what feels like rice, in the scrotum, around the testicle. It's numb and my testicles are sore. Could this be unrelated things? Could I have epididymitis?

I really don't want to be suffering for the rest of my life with this because of ONE stupid mistake. Any help is very much appreciated. I'm at the end of my tether.
