Is it possible?

Post a new topicby Guest on Fri Jul 11, 2003 4:56 am

My knowledge is not too good on stds and they're capability of spreading but, my girlfriend and I are each others first, and it appears that we will be together for the rest of our lives, and we have unprotected sex most of the times. Is it possible for either of us to have an std?

Not likely, but realize that oral herpes can be passed genitally, so you still need to be careful (but this would be the same if you were married). The main problem that trusting couples like you face is that your partner may someday decide to cheat on you, unknowningly pick up something, then give it to you. Again, this can happen to a married couple. So, while I hate to give a green light to unmarried people to have unprotected sex, as long as you two remain committed and take precautions regarding pregnancy, you are as safe as many married couples.
