Testicular Cancer

Well I had the orchiectomy on Friday June 6, 2008 . It all started with the pain and a lump on my left testicle. Went to the Doctor on June 2, had my Dr check it out and he said we needed to do the ultra sound( not cool cause my wife is a nurse there and she knows the LADY that does them at their office). It was quite the embarrasing afternoon. Well I went to the next appt. with the urologist the next day. He said he agreed it probly was cancer so wanted to do the surgery on that friday.He told me that type of cancer can spread real fast. So now that it is done he had me come in for a CT of my liver,chest,and so on. Then he says lets go over the pathologist report from surgery. He explains I have Pure Embrynal Carcinoma which there is only a 3% chance of getting. Well it is a fast spreading and aggressive type. Why wouldnt it be.So he says the next step is to do reprotoneal lymph node dissection in 4-6 weeks. So as I await this major surgery, my question is how bad is it. If anyone who has had it could let me know that would be great. He says probly 4-5 days in the hospital and 4-6 weeks out from work. Let me know if you all have gone through this I am curious.
