Testicular Pain/ Scrotal Pain

I need to choose between surgery and Needle Aspiration with sclerosant after my hydrocele became much bigger and more painful after a surfing accident.
It is bigger than a grapefruit due to the swelling but after 8 weeks it is slowing getting less painful.

Which procedure did you have? My research shows the reoccurence with Needle Aspiration with sclerosant (NAS) to almost as effective as surgery. Additionally, there is a much quicker recovery time with NAS vs surgery. Please share your insight on: How much pain was it? How long did it take you to recover to be able to walk without pain? How active are you now usually?
