Re: left testical painCalvin,
I don't know if you got this problem fixed or not, but you may have a small inguinal hernia. Have that checked if that is the case, be very aware that some of the meshes they use in the repair of hernias are not any good. please request that you have it fixed if it is a hernia, that it is done without any mesh implant. I never had testicular pain until they put this mesh in me, now I can't get out of pain. I am facing my third operation now to finally have all the mesh removed from a hernia operation I never needed to begin with. As I was told that the mesh has wrapped around my Genitofemoral nerve as is why I have extreme testicular pain. any questions [moderator note: e-mail address has been removed] please feel free to contact me.
Re: left testical painCalvin,my name is richard.I live here in connecticut, and I just went to a doctor this morning for left testicular pain too.Ultrasound shows nothing but it is still very painful, worse when I walk or stand for prolonged periods of time, and sometimes radiates to the lower abdomen as if you were kicked in your balls.and the pain gets worse later in the day.pain has been with me for 2 weeks, but this has been recurring for about 3 years now but the pain usually resolves in a week, and I get it like 3 or 4x a year.now I went to a doctor since the pain I think is getting worse and much more longer.Do we have the same symptoms?CAn you post a comment again if you find answers?I will post mine if I get an answer and hopefully help you too.
Re: left testical painHey calvin and Richard I to have pain in my left testical and left side of the groin. I have also gone though the ultrasound and nothing showed up. I had one doctor tell me I had a hernia and that when I was younger and my testical didn’t fully separate from the bag when they descended. But it seems like all of this is speculation, the last urologist I saw said he sees this often and they just don’t know what causes it. He said it most likely just muscular. I am going to see another hernia surgery to see if he agrees with the opinion of the other surgeon on the descending testical/bag theory. If you guys get any info let me know and I will do the same.
Re: left testical painFor those of you who only have left testical pain,,,, lucky you. I had a vasectome in 1992 and had pain in both testicals since. Went through the ultra sound bit etc. but nothing showed up. Doctors seem to like to just "blowover" this topic if you ask many questions. This was until i found a urologist at the Ohio State Univ Medical Center. He listened, then took his time during my exam. Went out of the room and came back in with. "only thing left to do is a radical orchidectomy on the right side and an epidimisectomy on the left. WOW !! came to find out after surgery my right testical was Diseased, along with my left epdidimis, my vas deferans had turned hard.... good news is that so far no cancer. Doctor said if I can stay cancer free for the next six months then I should be good to go. POINT is..... none of this showed up on any ultra sounds, x-rays c-scans etc. Only his exam led him to a conclusion. I can not begin to explain how great it is to not have any testical pain. oh! by the way in the past year I have had 2 surguries for ingunal hernies, an open to repair 2, and a laprscopic to repair 3 more, I have more mesh in me than anyone I know and have had no problems with it to date
Re: left testical painslamed62- I have posted many times on this forum due to the fact that my boyfriend has the same problem & I'm doing all that I can to help him. We are at the same fork in the road as you once, only now that family doctor (who by the way, has been the only one out of 2 urologists to suggest this) is going to be sending him to OSU. You went there too did u not? This pain started about 7 months ago after his pit bull slammed him in the testicles after not seeing him for a week, this dog's head by the way is 20 something inches wide & is like a concrete brick. Anyways, 3 days later he was in the ER with VERY swollen testicles and A LOT of pain . A Cipro script later, he seemed to be getting better, only to relapse again with another ER visit. Same story. So many many tests later (everything their little brains could think of..I guess) still nothing. My point is....sure I may not have a pair, but I watch him suffer everyday. I watch him fall deeper into depression & still no answers. I just want to help him. Any help here about your journey would really be great! By the way he (my boyfriend) is only 24, not over weight & has nothing medically wrong besides this problem. I noticed all the things that the doctor had found during ur surgery...wow is right! So are you pain free as of the surgery? My fear is that they will do something radical & he will still be in pain. Also, on all of his tests (same as urs) they found nothing..."everything looks good on paper!" as they like to say. Also, I don't know if you or anyone else has experienced this, but he gets extreme kidney pain sometimes. Anyways, we are off to OSU as soon as she figures out what it takes to get him there. Please share the details of ur story. :) thank you!
Re: left testical painMy way to the OSU Uro Doc was not a direct one. I had complication with a hernia surgery that injured my ilioinguinal nerve, which left me in crying pain. A CAT scan put me in the hospital for a week and was unable to talk or walk for nearly 4 months. During this time I saw a great Pain Specialist who helped some of my pain with meds. But when it came to my testical pain he had no answers. My Family Doc said same, on paper looks ok, sent me to a Uro in my home town and he said I was "CRAZY" and that I had a servere mental disorder and needed psyh help and put on proper medication for it. Wasnt until I called the Doc who done my 1st hernia surgery and gallblader surg who got me a referral to a hernia specialist at OSU who did the 2nd surgery hernia. During the follow up to that and planning the surgery to remove the damaged nerve he did a testical exam and said further surgery is off until I see a good Uro Doc there at OSU. And.... that is how I found a great Uro Doc at the Ohio State Univ Medical Center. This same doc will be doing a testical prothesis implant next month. Since your boyfriend is only in his twenties and hasn't had a vasectomey his problem is most likely to be different than mine.. I would highly suggest that he see a Uro Doc at OSU.. you and he will be glad he did. Hopefully this will be my last surgery for a while.
Re: left testical painThanks for the reply. I'm sorry to hear about everything that has happened to. We wish the best of luck to you. As it stands now we are waiting for the family doctor to refer us to OSU, and then I guess we will take it from there. I'm curious as to how long you had this problem (if you don't mind that I ask) until you finally found relief? It has been 8 months for him. I'll tell you what, this kind of problem really kills your self-confidence, and it would seem to me that a lot of men are getting this kind of problem and no one is helping out there. What gives?!! Again, thank you for ur reply & good luck! :)
Re: left testical painHad my vasectomy September of 1992 and things started to go wrong and worse ever since until the trip to OSU Urology Dept,,, They are great
Re: left testical painHi,
Did you ever figure this out. Has the kidney pain and the testical pain resolved. I've been suffering from this as well. I'm left with inflamation (after what I assume may have been an STD long gone).... sure you don't need the details. Doctors say my kidney is inflamed, but nothing too worry about (hmmm) Doctors say my right testicle is inflamed, but nothing to worry about (double hmmm). My Kidney hurts (unfortunately I only have 1, due to my newborn days). I have discolored eyes (yellowish). I've been tested for every virus under the sun, and nothing shows up (no mono, no hep, nothing). If you've seen resolution or have any suggestions for me, then can you reply to this. I've often thought this could be a lingering bacterial infection, but doctors say my white blood count would be up. Unfortunately white blood counts do not increase when thyroid and adrenal disfunctions are apparent. Bottom line is this. 1. Bacteria's are not easily killed anymore. 2. Inflamation is the cause of pain, and bacteria's cause inflamation. 3. There is a great antibiotic called CiproFlaxin. It is specifically designed for intestine Urinary function bacteria's. 4. After all bacteria's and virus' are discounted, then move onto Thyroid management (and adrenal management). If the thyroid or adrenal is off kilter, then the inflamation will not go away. I peronally think that inflamation in and around the intestine, causes hernia's.
