Finally Getting T Replacement at 32.My story starts when I was in pharmacy school about 7 years ago. I had lost interest in sex, working out, and the general joy for life. I gained a lot of weight. My then fiance, now wife, was not happy with me at all. I went to the doctor and of course the diagnosed me with depression and put on a SSRI.
Skip ahead to about 1 year ago. I gained even more weight, had trouble being motivated at work and home, and am on more antidepressants. Even being a pharmacist I never thought of low T. ...Read the full article
Re: Finally Getting T Replacement at 32.hey,great to here you are doing so good.i wanted to ask you a question.i posted with the title low testosterone at 30.you seem like you know more about low testosterone than i do and you being a pharmacy student, you should be able to give me an honest answer.i said in my post my levels were 101 and i was using the androderm patches 5mg every 24 hours.i have used them for a few weeks now.when i first put the patch on i can actually feel the testosterone going through my body and i feel great for about an hour.then it seems to level out and after a few hours i feel bad again.the androderm insert says i should get the peak results at about 12 hours after i put it on,but this is not the case for me.i noticed you said you were on the injections.in your personal opinion which do you think is the best the patch or the injection?i do not know if you have used the patch or not,but being a pharmacy student you probably got some good unbiased advice from pharmacists.my insurance pays for a certain type of injection.could you tell me what type of injection and how often you need to inject it.i also noticed you said you were planning on entering a mma event.i love mma and my dream was always to fight in the ufc,but i am way off from feeling that good.any advice would be greatly appreciated.thanks,charles.
Re: Finally Getting T Replacement at 32.Thanks for your reply. The advice you gave was great. We have so much in common. My dr's. also did the ssri, lyrica, even anti-psychotics.One doc looked me straight in the eyes and said i was a hypochondriac.I know that there is an underlying cause to all this and i think i am finally on the right path.A few years ago i broke my back and nave been on opiates since. The opiates are the reason the doc thinks my T levels are so low,but i had too many problems before the opiates and the opiates were the only thing that made me believe i could do stuff.Although this was just false hope it was better than nothing. With the T therapy i do not rely on the opiates as much even though they stopped giving me that good feeling long ago.I have legitimate pain, but the way it is progressing lets me know there is something else.I have been looking for an endocrinologist.I have had blood work for thyroid problems which were normal, but i know there are many more tests that have not been done. When i met my wife at 21 i was 5-7,150lbs,almost all muscle i worked out six days a week ate 1 to 1 1/2 gram protein per pound body weight every day and practiced gracie jui-jitsu every day of the week.I have all the Rorion and Royce Gracie videos and had a half brother 6-2 325lbs to practice on.I went to every seminar that Royce had around my area. That was my life.It is so disappointing to look back at old pictures and wonder what went wrong. It is great just to have someone that can relate.i am not happy you are having problems, but seeing you getting better gives me hope.I do have an understanding wife although it was so difficult for her to see me on the couch all the time not being able to do anything constructive and not having a reason why.Sorry for rambling on.I think i am not going to have any option about switching to the injections as my insurance will only pay for 30 5mg patches a month. My dr. had mentioned going to a 5mg and 2.5mg for a total 7.5mg per 24 hours, but my insurance will not pay for that and the gel is out because i have two small kids and do not want them possibly getting it on them through me.That does not bother me much as the patches are a hassle.i have had one come off and one bust. They also leave a little rash when removed and it is nearly impossible to wash that glue off your skin.My insurance will pay for the cypionate injections(maybe i was close on the spelling) without limitations and i am not too worried about needles. When i find an endo dr. i will keep everyone updated as to my progress.Thanks,Charles.
