Not sure if it’s depression or low testosteroneHi,
I’m 25 years old and have a relatively active lifestyle. I work in consulting and sit around a lot of the day, but try to make up for the sedentary nature of my work by hitting the gym and playing sports with friends in the evenings and on weekends. Now, about two years ago, I started seeing a psychologist because I was feeling generally unhappy, low energy, poor concentration, unconnected with life (family, friends, work). Two years later, I’ve tried a number of different anti-...Read the full article
Re: Not sure if it’s depression or low testosteroneYour T level is definately low, and your story sounds much like my own. Sounds like you've done your homework and educated yourself quite a bit which is always the best and first step. I have tracked my T-level now for 3 years on and off of replacement therapy. Off therapy T-levels range from a low of 220 to a high of 440 (this is the range before ever trying replacement therapy). On T-relacement therapy i have T-levels between 700-900 and oh what a difference. I did have to go to 2 tubes of the androgel but has been worth it for sure. Like you, I went through several years thinking maybe i was just depressed and counselors etc.... And Yes i was moody, up/down and miserable and my wife used to say to me "how's cranky today"? But now I know that I need T-levels over 500 and feel best a bit higher than that (700-900). I don't think there's a magic number that is perfect for all men obviously but i know I feel much, much better with T-levels a bit higher than lower.
Good luck!
Re: Not sure if it’s depression or low testosteroneYou seem to have mentioned quite a few issues that you have. You owe it to yourself to go see some specialists. See a urologist first. Because of your history, you need a good work up, from top to bottom. You are so young to have so many problems. Don't ask people here what they think, go to the professionals and ask them and good luck.
