Advise on Testosterone TherapyI am considering asking my doctor if I am a candidate for testosterone therapy and here is why. I am a 55 year old man with a very active lifestyle. I am 5' 11 1/2" tall and weigh 182 lb. I weight train 5 days a week working out two body parts per day,15-16 sets each. I train with heavy weights 8-12 reps each set and 45 seconds to 1 minute rest between each set. To complete this routine it takes me approximately 1 hour and ten-twenty minutes. Also, I run (on a tread mill) 3 times a week for 20-25 minutes averaging 10 min./mile. I am not bragging, because I really like the feeling I get from this routine, but I am in great shape with great muscular definition.
As I said, I do like what this routine does for me, but I have to admit that duing the day I feel tired. My wife says what would you expect at 55. I am not sure if I have a testosterone deficiency as I have never asked my doctor to measure it in the blood work I have done with my yearly physical, but I am thinking about asking him if testosterone therapy would give me more energy. I think that given my workout routine it may just be needed in my case. Your thoughts please. Bert
Re: Advise on Testosterone TherapyI have been happily married to the same woman for 26 years and while I believe my sex drive is ok, (not the same as when I was 28), I think it could be better. However, to address the first part of your response. Yes, while I do have plenty of energy to complete my workout routine, it's the tired feeling afterwards that I am trying to remedy and was hoping testosterone would help that.
Re: Advise on Testosterone TherapyI would be interested in knowing your levels but would bet they are in the high normal range. Having said that it will be very difficult to find a Dr. that would prescribe T relacement. However if you did find a Dr. it would probably increase your energy level. Ever consider backing off your routine a bit?
Re: Advise on Testosterone TherapyAt least have your doctor run the tests on your testosterone levels - it doesn't hurt anything to know what your levels are, and that's the only way you will know if you have low testosterone. Believe me, if you do have low T, you will need and want hormone replacement therapy. It is a lifesaver - not just sexual but energy, mood control, positive/negative outlook on life - so many things are influenced by your T levels.
Re: Advise on Testosterone TherapyMy husband was very active too and his levels were low (305) at 41. He was at the gym three days a week and really working out, also road biking. He has been on vienue for several months now and his levels are up 1100 or so, waiting for his latest tests again. I started taking the woman's formula and love it, my libido is better than ever. You can go to vienue and check out there success stories page.
Take care
