Ejaculation Problem

Post a new topicby Older Man on Fri Aug 08, 2008 7:59 pm

I've been to a lot of sites trying to track down a problem with the inability to ejaculate during sex. There seems to be a lot of men who have the opposite problem as premature or early ejaculation. My problem is that I can get an erection and participate in sex but only rarely can I have an orgasm and ejaculate. I am 69 years old and in good health except for mild pre-diabetic condition. On the other hand, I can masterbate to ejaculation whenever I want but it takes a long time. Could this be a testosterone deficiency?

I have been curious about this too. Before my husband started on testosterone replacement, he too was often unable to climax during sex. He would get close, then if something shifted the least bit, he couldn't do it. Very frustrating for both of us.

I am new to this site, and I am glad that I am not alone with this problem. I am a 49 year old man, and in the past 3 years I have had a problem with getting a full erection, and had problems to have an orgasm. It would take foreever and sometimes I had to fake one. For some reason I was not enjoying intercourse at all. I had back surgery in 2003 and have been on pain medications and antidepressants. I am now separated for over a year and I have not been interested in sex at all. I met this woman a few months ago, and I have the same problem. I have a hard time getting in the mood or even getting an erection. I have to fake an orgasm most of the time, and I still do not enjoy it the way I should. I am very concerned about my condition, because I want to be very intemate with my partner, and I get so frustrated that I can't perform. I am a very loving affectionate man, but it is very diaspointing for both of us. I used to be very sexually active and enjoyed it very much. Now I feel that I can no longer perform at all. So therefore I was wondering if there is help out there for a man like me! If anyone has good newa for me, please let me know!

Thanks!

I have noticed that Zoloft (anti-depressant) causes me to have delayed ejaculation to where I get tired of having sex and its either fake it or sooner or later it will go down and I'll have to stop anyway. I read, on the pamphlet that came from the pharmacy, that Zoloft may cause this. So I didn't take my Zoloft for a few days to test it and everything worked out fine. I'm not saying that anyone should quit taking their medicine but its worth a call to the pharmacy or doctor. This may be causing your problem. Buproprion is supposed to be one that is very low risk of sexual side effects. Maybe you could get with the Dr. He may change to a different med or lower the dosage.

I have been having the opposite problem. I am able to get an erection, but it doesn't last very long. And once I am inside my wife, it only takes a minute or 2 to ejaculate.....weirdest part of the whole thing is....I have almost no sensation of having an orgasm. I don't know if that's part of this low testosterone, or some other issue.
