High cost of Testim *I, as previously mentioned, have a very low score results for my Testoterone (69 combined total - a term he used and I am not sure what that meant) I had biopsy done within the past few years so the Dr decided to put me on Testim* which he claims to be an easy to use rub on medication
I submitted the Rx and the cost came back to almost US$285.00 Turns out that I have passed my Coverage Gap and would have to pay for any Name Brand medication myself. They will cover Generic however. Well their is no Generic for Testim* After much wasted time on the phone, I have had to give up help from Insurance Companies. I discussed it with my Dr and we will be doing injections instead. The med is a generic and will cost a lot less. Being retired means that I don't have that much extra monies floating around. I have several people who are willing to inject me, but I am chosing self injections. Just don't want to rely on others for what I can do myself. (I was a trained medic in the Army National Guard and not afraid of needles - so this process does not bother me much) Will I be on this TRT for the rest of my life? Needing needles like a diabetic? Does it ever level off and allow us to have the old normal life that I used to have? I suffer from Fibromyalgia Syndrome as well. So I am hoping that the TRT will help with some of the symptoms associated with the Fibro. Not looking for it to cure the Fibro but maybe make my life a bit easier Rich
Re: High cost of Testim *TRT is a lifelong drug, but it has a lot to do with well being, energy , etc. You can always go off of it if the costs outweigh the benifits
