Low Testosterone and emotions

Post a new topicby lowt on Mon Apr 07, 2008 10:28 am

I'm a 36 year old male with primary hypogonadism I've seen a urologist and am consisdering testosterone injections (weekly) or varicocelectomy. I have very low testosterone levels.

I have two questions:

1) Low T seems to really affect my esteem / emotions. Sometimes I feel very whimpy. Othertimes I feel normal. Has anyone else experienced this? Does replacement therapy help strengthen / balance your emotions? I did not grow-up with this sense of weakness.

2) Has anyone had experience with corrective varicocele surgery? My doctor has told me that my testosterone may increase naturally after the surgery. If so, how long will that take?

Thanks.

They can implant (Pellets) of testoserone under the skin and is a natural way to go. I have gone through anti depressants and "T" creams for over 10 years ! Since I started with a "0" "T" level I am now at 360 and therefore we implanted another "Pellet" as we want my level around 600-700 range. NOT having the desire for sex really impacted my life.

NOW.....I am feeling the desire return and feel feelings below that I have not had in years ! Needless to say, my husband is happy I am screaming happy and feel things will only get better.
I see Dr. Amanda Brimhall in Kirkland Washington. I also have gone to natural estrogen "Pellets" and thankful to be off the high doses of premarin. Good Luck All
