Update 4 months laterWell I feel great still. Just got my blood work back and t was 550. My libido and energy are awesome. Only regret is that it took so long to get treatment, I just though feeling "old" was normal from age 36 to 39. I feel great now. The tetim is not a big deal. Little sticky, no other side effects. I've noticed that my testicles have shrunk a bit. Frankly I don't care not does my wife so no biggey.
My doc told me he did not know why I was low. Prolactin and the other blood stuff comes back normal. No significant history. No pot use (in over 20 years anyway). So that part is kinda weird. Urodoc is there other patients like myself that are younger (40) and have unexplained low T? Cheer- Mr T
Re: Update 4 months later18 months ago T was 181. 3 months ago 290. Couple weeks ago 590. Started the Testim 3 months ago. I noticed it right away. I still feel good. The only thing is now I am used to feeling good (if that makes any sense). Lost weight abot 8-10 lbs within the first 30 days. Gained some back but I think I have more muscle and less fat. More body hair which is weird. Pretty much on my chest. Not that I was hairless or anything, pretty average I guess. Now I have noticed maybe 10% more hair. So weight loss, libido, energy, recovery from excersise, mod, all much better.
Never did have the free T measured. My gp offered to send me to an endoronologist, but I am comfortable with him since he's been my doc for about 20 years or so. So I passed on the referral. My insurance is paying for the meds which is awesom. I do have a monthly $30 co pay for it since it's not formulary. Testim is normally like $240 a month so I'm not complaining.
Re: Update 4 months laterMy Dr. has switched me to a compound cream to be applied to the inner arms and neck area. He said there have been some absorption problems with Androgel being applied to the the belly. 50mg is a starting dose from what I've read. My levels got as low as 219. It started at 275 but continued to drop after a month on meds. He felt that my body was shuting down natural production of T (which it does) with the use of T therefore not showing up in my blood work. Thus the absorption issue.
