"Bashful Bladder"

Post a new topicby Guest on Sun Jul 21, 2002 11:52 pm

I am a forty eight year old male. While I do not have any physical problem, I am unable to start my urine flow without complete privacy. This has only been a problem when it is necessary to use public restrooms or for job related drug testing that requires a witness. What causes this condition, and what treatment is available to correct it?

Paruresis is a very common and inconvenient problem, for which there is no easy urologic fix. However, behavior modification and experience usually resolves the condition.
There are may web sites devoted to the issue.
Go to: http://www.paruresis.org/ for more information and help.
