Complication & pain worse after bladder surgery.I had a complete hysterectomy on Jan 22 2002, I also had the bladder suspension surgery done at the same time for inconsistence. Since the surgery (which did work for the inconsistence) I have had extreme pain on both sides of my lower abdomine. I have been treated three times for bacteria infection. Last week I went to the hospital emergency because I was throwing up blood, on a routine Xray of the stomach, they found that I have "springs" (6-10 on each side of my lower abdomine. They are exactly where I have extreme pain, continuous on my right side, and the pain is just getting worse. It's also worse when my bladder is full. The only the surgery got rid of was the pressure pain I had when I sat down. I am extemely allgeric to almost all metals. My question is has anyone heard of the use of "springs" for this surgery? What are they for? And is there any chance that my body being so sensitive to metal, be rejecting the "springs" and could they cause an infection causing all this pain?
Re: Complication & pain worse after bladder surgery.I have not herd of such springs, but similar complications (other than vomiting blood) from pelvic bone inflammation have occurred secondary to the use of bone anchors.
Getting a second opinion from an expert in urinary incontinence at a major medical school/clinic should be helpful.
