Condom Catheter Problems

Post a new topicby Guest on Wed Feb 26, 2003 3:10 pm

I am a second year spinal cord injury.C5incomplete quad with feeling in my penis.I have had prostrate surgery to try to repair problems with incontinence. Now my problem is retraction which makes it impossible to use a condom catheter.I now have an indwelling catheter and a rageing infection. In two weeks the catheter will come out as the infection will be gone. The doctor suggests inserting two rods in my penis so I have a permenant erection. This will allow me to use the condom catheter and eventually train my bladder to drain properly.I still have semen flow even though they said I would not.I do not want anymore surgery and would like to know if anyone out there has found a method of getting an erection for the purpose of applying a condom catheter.I saw a external pump on the net (don't ask where) with a ring but doc said it would force off condom Due to minor lack of sensation other methods of personal gratification have failed.Any suggestions?
