Urge Incontinence with detrusor overactivity- WHY???

Post a new topicby Hamburg on Tue Jan 27, 2009 4:14 pm

Hi, I am a 32 year old female and I have been suffering from an urge incontinence (detrusor over activity) for more than 10 years. My urologists have checked everything thoroughly - there is no cause for my problems. No family heritage, no trauma, no anatomical problems. I have tried quite a lot of things, anticholinergics, had an Interstim Neuromodulator for a year etc. The only thing that currently works is Botox but I do not want to rely on this as it is very unpleasant to have these injections twice a year and spent 3 days in hospital every time incl. general anaethesia.

Maybe it is time for an "out of the box" approach outside urology? I would like to know if there is anything else which could help me like hormones, acupuncture changing my diet, lifestyle (although I do a lot of sports, am certainly not overweighted, have never smoked, don't drink coffee and only occassionally have a glass of wine)....anything which could help me is much appreciated!!!!! I have already tried an orthopedist, an alternative practitioner and an osteopath without any solution to my problem.

Who can help me??? Thanks a mil in advance...
