can alchohol cause UTI's if prone to them anyway?

I have suffered from uti's since the age of about 11....going into adulthood..they all seemed to be triggered by intercourse...however, over the last couple of years, I have been taking waterfall d mannose which seems to work wonderfully as a preventative - but not very well as a method of getting rid of an infection when I have one and I now seem to be getting them every 6 to 7 months - which is a lot less than I used to, but still painful and depressing. I seem to be ok when having two or three glasses of wine - but any more on special occasions when I may have a little more than is perhaps good for me - despite drinking water at the same time or not, I seem to be more likely to get an infection...I'm not sure if this is coincidence or if the alchohol is actually increasing the liklihood of an infection - I had thought as long as I also drank water at the same time - I would be ok. I am currently on a third course of antibiotics to try and get rid of the current infection I have. Thanks.
