how to get rid of stubborn klebsiella infection

Post a new topicby merec on Sat Aug 15, 2009 7:51 am

Hello, I have been dealing with a klebsiella infection for over a month now. I first took a course of amoxicillin and doxicyline, then (after I took the culture test) arzythromiocin 250mg twice a day, then now I am on injections of amikacin 750mg per day.

In the case of all these drugs I have felt partial initial relief for 3 days but then there is no further relief even though I keep taking the antibiotic and the symptoms little by little come back (frequent urge to urinate, pelvic pain, burning sensation etc.) .My urologist (in India) is keeping me on the injections of amikacin but already after 5 days I can feel it reoccuring. I feel the need for a second opinion - what may the next treatment be?? There is little point in taking an endless round of antibiotics only for 3 or 4 days of some relief. I am allergic to cipro type of antibiotics.

Are there any herbs that can complement the antibiotic treatment to make it more effective or should the two things not be combined?
Thank you for any replies.
