Ok, I've been doing a little research on this and found out you can get it from having sex. Around July 21 I had one was out of town and had my doctor call in an prescription. 3 days after having sex with my boyfriend, I've been having the same symptoms which have been going on for 3wks. I got some over the counter meds for the burning and I've been drinking lots of water, cranberry juice and cranberry pills. It helps a little. I wanted to know if doxycycline is good for uti's? Can I take more than 2 cranberry pills? The packet says you can take up to 6.

If the package says six then you can take that many, Doxycycline is okay but Bactrim, Cipro, or Levaquin are better. Sex can cause infections because vaginal penile sex can force bacteria up the urethra and into the bladder, good luck
