Urinary Tract Infection

Hello to you all - I am new here but wanted the benefit of your experience. I have recurrent UTI's for over 4 years but last year I got one and this coincided with flank pain and back pain at waist level and also referred pain in my hip which radiated down my leg - I was told that there was no link.( I have bad back anyway so I think this was written off)
Right now, however, I am recovering from a bad UTI and this pain in left flank and leg, waist etc has returned. Surely there is a link?
Does this resonate with anyone else?

H Grainne, I do not believe that this is a ciincidence. I had the experience of abdominal soreness and back pain before the onset and during an UTI attack. I suggest that you visit another doctor and explain to them symptoms you are experiencing omit any detail of prior back injury but let them know of the pains you get in the lower back area. This is because if you mention this, the doctor will class it as a back problem and not look for the possible reason for the pains you are expereiencing which could bacteria wreaking havoc within your urinary tract up to our kidneys. Get the opinion of a urologist if possible. Try everthing possible and drink water whenever possible. kimme
