post UTI pain

Post a new topicby andre118 on Wed Dec 19, 2007 5:31 pm

I was diagnosised with a UTI a little over a month ago. The bacteria was E. Coli and I was treated with 2 weeks of antibotics. MY doctor took the longer treatment because I am male and had never had any health issues until now. I finished the treatment and went for another U/A and culture and it was negative it only showed some wbc which they thought was a contaminant.
Since then I have been having penile pain around the head of my penis know and then and it tends to come out of nowhere. I have also noticed that at times the pain begins in the base of my penis close to my rectum and radiates up. During this time my physican also checked my prostate (eventhough I am 33 years old) and I felt a little pressure but not too much. He didn't think my prostate was inflamed or inlarged. I also had him run tests for STD that can cause UTI in males (gonorrea and chlymidia) and the results were negative. I also had kidney and bladder ultrasounds done and they were negative I only had a very small cyst that my doctor said was not impressive. I'm not sure what else I should do or what could be the cause of this. Does anybody have any thought on what I should do.
Thank you
