Re: UTI after sexI am a women who is looking is looking for the same answers as your girlfriend. I too, did not experience these horrible infections, until sex with B. I have been in the hospital several times, as the bacteria becomes antibiotic resistant.
My doctors are saying that I could be getting the bacteria from B., but they are not sure. I believe I am, as I have never gone through this before with anyone. I am concerned that I may not ever rid of these UTI's. Please let your girlfriend know that I am trying to get to the root of this problem. Should you find out anything helpful, please let me know. S
Re: UTI after sexI have read on another page here (if I remember well) that men that have this bacteria (even if they don't get to have a uti) will transmit it to their partner. And then the woman will have uti-s. It's simply because of the way our bodies are made that women will get the uti much more easier and frequently than men do.
What to do? One suggestion is to use a condom. That should protect your girlfriend from your transmitting the bacteria (in case you are carrying it). Another thing would be to try D-Mannose. It's a natural powder that has helped many women overcome this problem. It can be taken as a supplement, to prevent the uti-s, or it can be taken when she feels the uti coming, and the D-Mannose will stop the uti.
Re: UTI after sexHi,
I agree with the other posts here. It is very likely that you do have an STD, and should be seen by a doctor, which you have probably already done. The seemingly simple solution to this is antibiotics. However, this is nothing to sneeze at . . . we live in a dangerous time, with multiple resistant strains of antibiotic (ABX) resistant bacteria. Alarmingly, the incidence of ABX resistant STDs is quickly increasing. So, PLEASE do yourself a favor and don't "go with the flow, in the moment" . . . EVER! Use protection! EVERY TIME! One other suggestion I would like to make, which you may have already done, is to make sure your girlfriend gets tested and treated. I hope you are able to get this cleared up quickly, and that you avoid this kind of problem in the future. PortersMom01
