Could someone please put in laymans terms what this means? I must tell you I am scared to death right now! I had a cysto done the end of October and everything in the bladder looked good(no tumors, polyps etc) just a slight enlargement of the prostate. I have a follow up with the urologist next week, but i am not a very patient guy. This has me really worried!

FISH RESULTS:
POSITIVE fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) result using the
Vysis UroVysionTM assay
nuc ish(D3Z1x3-5),(D7Z1x4),(CDKN2Ax2-4),(D17Z1x1-4)¢5!
INTERPRETATION and COMMENTS:
An ABNORMAL hybridization pattern was observed with 5 cells
exhibiting numerical abnormalities for chromosomes 3, 7, 9, and 17.
This result is indicative of bladder cancer according to the
UroVysion Directional Insert.
Positive UroVysion results in the absence of other signs or symptoms
of bladder cancer may be evidence of other urinary tract related
cancers, e.g., ureter, urethra, renal, and/or prostate in males, and
further patient follow-up is justified. If the test results are not
consistent with the clinical findings, a consultation between a
pathologist and the treating physician is warranted.
The UroVysion test was designed for use on voided urine specimens as
an aid for the initial diagnosis of bladder carcinoma in patients
with hematuria and subsequent monitoring for tumor recurrence in
patients previously diagnosed with bladder cancer
