Need help....

Hello all,

I could really use some advice here. To give you some background here I am a 25-year-old and I have the skin condition vitiligo on parts of my genitalia and in particular on the tip of my penis. I've had that for about 5 years now, I've accepted it, whatever! The problem here is recently i've developed these painful, yellowy-brown blister type formations in the area affected by the vitiligo. Basically what's happened lately is i'll develop a blister or two, they'll peel off like a scab yet they leave a bit of an indentation on the skin surface....and then another sometimes more painful blister will develop. Again, only on areas affected by the vitiligo.

Based on my Google/Wikipedia diagnosis my symptoms are consistent with either genital herpes or [gulp] a form of gangrene called Fournier's Gangrene. I would be absolutely STUNNED if it was genital herpes considering i've been sexually active with only one person in the past 6 months or so. To my knowledge, she's clean and we used condoms whenever we had intercourse. The gangrene part is what really scares me and from what I read it sounds like a possibility despite how slim-to-none the odds of developing it apparently are.

Clearly, I need to get this checked out and I plan on doing so. I would just like to know what i'm dealing with beforehand considering I don't like surprises. Also, which type of doctor should I seek to handle this? Should I go to urologist? Do urologists deal with STD's -- in the event that's the case? Hell, are urologists even equipped to deal with a gangrene type issue?

Thanks for all your help. I'm honestly terrified by this situation so any useful words of advice or anything would help!
