prostiva procedure

Post a new topicby omajoy on Sat Dec 15, 2007 2:20 pm

Nearly a month ago my husband had the prostiva procedure done upon recommendation of urologist My husband had recurring bouts of urinary tract infections for years. The diagnosis was "moderately enlarged prostate and bladder not emptying fully"....The initial procedure went well. He wore catheter for five days. He continued to have some discomfort with urination, etc after the catheter was removed. Now he is sick! His urologist says his infection not due to procedure. He has burning, frequency of urination night and day, incontinence urgency, sweats, weakness. He is not getting better despite more appts and changes in antibiotic. Has been on Levaquin and now on Maxicip (?). Has anyone had bad experiences with this procedure? HIs urologist said if my husband had not been a biker (rides bicycle 15-20 Miles daily) he would wait on the procdure for awhile. We are very discouraged. Isolated and staying home and being sick is awful. Any experience with this?
