uretheral reimplantas a 47 y/o male I have had two stents implanted and removed because of upper and lower contrictions.,now a reimplant has been suggested because of reflux. I see that most of this type of procedure is always done on a pediatris level. question is it common in adults and hoewpainful is the recovery
Re: uretheral reimplantRe-implant are uncommon in adults, but often are the best way to handle a problem of obstruction in the distal ureter. Recovery varies with the exact type of surgery (a few weeks perhaps), and you will need to ask your surgeon for individual guidance. If uncertain about your situation, a second opinion is rarely a bad idea.

Re: Re: uretheral reimplantDid you have this surgery done(ureter implant)? I was wondering about the pain involved, hospital stay and time off from work. Thanks JoyceAnne

uretheral reimplantThis type of operation is very painful. My daugther had one done in May and was in a ***lot*** of pain for 2-3 weeks. I would have prepared myself better if I had known how painful operations involving the bladder are. I wrote our own experience in this blog: http://ureteralreimplant.blogspot.com/ as well as some tips on how to cope bladder spasms.
