reflux in kidneys

Post a new topicby Chloemommy1 on Sat Feb 28, 2009 11:23 pm

Hi,
My daughter was diagnosed with VUR in both kidneys while in infancy and has had quite a bit of challenges in her past 6 years of life. When she was diagnosed I was told that her VUR was more than likely hereditary and that it may have been passed on by me. I have never been tested for VUR due to never having UTIs while I was a child. I have however had multiple UTIs for years and was wondering if anyone has been diagnosed with VUR as an adult and if so what was the treatment? I am concerned because the pediatric urologists my daughter has seen have told me that there is an 80% chance of me passing it to my next child and at this time my husband and I are wanting another child but are fearful of going through the trauma we went through with our daughter. Does anyone have any advice? Thanks for any help you can give.
