Im still feeling the bulge in my vagina to but only when I bare down to have a BM . I made an appt to the gyn but not for 2 more days . My belly is swollen and cramping . I have pain in pubic bone area and my lower back . I know it seems like I have a rectal prolapse ..I just wanna be able to go to the bathroom and it seems to be blocking it . Please advice , anyone ?
Re: Scared to death! You should try taking stool softener (over the counter brands are fine, or try Colace, which is what they give to pregnant women), and drink TONS of fluids. DO NOT try to squeeze and push the poo bec/ it is probably putting too much pressure on your pelvic floor. I went for almost 2 weeks without a BM when I was pregnant and the stool softeners really REALLY helped. I was in such agony that I almost fainted at a dinner with my family! It got so bad that night that I took a dose of castor oil (which unbeknownst to me is sometimes used to induce labor-oops!) and flushed everything out. It was a miserable experience, but I felt better the next day and started the stool softeners without any more trouble. Now that I have uterine prolapse and probably a rectocele, BMs have become VERY uncomfortable and sometimes painful and it feels like something (ie: my uterus!) is in the way. The doc and a physical therapist told me to eat more fiber, drink more fluids and take stool softener- those are all the tricks they have I guess! If things are as bad as it sounds, call around and DEMAND that someone see you immediately!! It never hurts to whip out that phone book and do whatever you can to get in to see someone..anyone. Those nurses on the phone are the gatekeepers that try to make appts to convenience the doctors and not you!! They were giving me the run-around too and I finally got so frustrated that I cried on the phone, and low and behold, I got an appt that day. Play the game girl!
