This is ridiculous....WHERE is everybody??I just want some replies to my post...what is wrong with this website that nobody is replying to my thread?? Does nobody have experience or knowledge of pessaries?? Please...I really need some help here!
Re: This is ridiculous....WHERE is everybody??Hi, i just want to say the Pesseries are old school. There is a new procedure that Dr. Miklose in Atlanta has invented. Google him and you will see. He is internationaly known and I am saving for a surgery from him.
Re: This is ridiculous....WHERE is everybody??I'm sorry, but for someone to tell you that "pessaries are old school" is ridiculous. I actually had a pessary fitting session a couple days ago. I have been diagnosed with grade II vaginal, bladder, and recal prolapse but am not ready to go forward with surgery yet. I want to continue my strenuous strength training workouts in the meantime without leakage issues, so my doctor recommended a pessary as a temporary "fix". She tells me that there are over 50+ different types of pessaries. I personally tried about 10 different types, sizes, shapes, etc. and still didn't find a perfect fit.
Most pessaries look like a big plastic ring; some are round, some have different funky shapes, some even have a big knob on them. The one you need depends on the shape of your pelvic floor and the issues you're experiencing. I understand the ones with the knobs are meant to put extra pressure on the urethra to keep urine from leaking. My doctor had me try lots of different ones and walk around with each one, squating, coughing, sitting up, etc. to see if it stayed in place and kept me from leaking. If nobody you've seen can help you with getting fitted, it's not because pessaries are "old school", it's because your doctor does not possess the knowledge to help you. I was told for three years by my OBGYN that I needed to keep doing kegels to fix my problems before finally seeing a woman who specializes in pelvic organ prolapse. She was able to diagnose me and offer every option available to women.
Re: This is ridiculous....WHERE is everybody??Hi, I have no knowledge of pessaries as I myself am trying to get one, which is very difficult as I live on a small volcanic island that does not have any. My advice to you because of your situation is to visit the following web-site and join its forums. www.wholewoman.com This site is whit women who alleviate and correct their prolapse using posture, exercise and other various items such as pessaries or sea sponges... These women have either had several failed surgeries or never started down that road so they can relate more with your situation.
Sorry this is so late I just signed up for this forum today, but judging from your non responses it is probably not the best forum to be involved in :( Blessings to you
Re: This is ridiculous....WHERE is everybody??P.S. Pessaries are not old school, they are more an art then a science getting the right one. You must find a good doc that will help with several fittings... The only time they are so old school is for money hungry surgeons who want to rush into surgery and not take the time to offer less expensive alternatives. surgery- 5-15 thousand pessary 40 bucks
