Varicocele

I had laparoscopic surgery about 4 weeks ago and now I still have the mass of veins but now there is also a large hard mass after standing for a while I did not have this before surgery the doctor told me it would take 2 months for the full recovery but this dosnt feel normal. any ideas

I had an embolization. I also lost the other testicle to cancer a while ago. So if you're worried it's cancer I definetly know the feeling. I'm about 4 weeks out from the embolization. I was really freaking out earlier this week b/c I felt that hard mass that you described; and even though my doc says it's just in my head I could have sworn it felt exactly the same as cancer.
But he did say that I was probably feeling where blood is still pooling and that it may just take a while for that feeling to go away. And the pain is still there.
For me obviously it was important to get it checked out to make sure that it wasn't cancer again. I guess that would be my advice to you ... if you're questioning that "hard mass" feeling goto the doc, get him to examine it, and if he says it's nothing to be worried about, then at least you know. It's probably just part of the healing but if you question it, then it's probably better to have that question answered.
