After Surgery - Difference between laying down and standing

Post a new topicby jivan on Thu Jun 18, 2009 2:55 pm

Hey all,

I have some questions for you guys who had surgery. How much difference did you feel between laying down and standing after surgery? Did the difference completely disappear, or is still there?

And did you, by any chance, feel that the affected testicle/testicles came closer to the body (that is, did it/they hang less low) after surgery?

Big thanks for all your help and for contributing to this great site!

i waited about 7 months before i had embolization done on varicoceles. A couple days after i felt really sore inside. After a couple weeks now since i had the surgery i can stand for long periods of time without problems. my testicles stay closer to my body even after a hot shower unlike before surgery. I have been getting tired faster and am only 26 years old. I stopped going to the gym. I was in the best shape of my life about 11 months ago but am now just too tired to do much of anything. I do landscaping now since i was laid off from my old job and put in 12 hour days and can make it through. I hope this helps you descide to get it done. It is better then being in pain all the time

Thanks for sharing your story!

I am glad to hear that you are doing better after you got the surgery done. Sounds like the pains had a quite severe impact on your life, and it is good to hear that surgery helped. As for me, however, my problem is mostly aesthetical; I do not have any pains, and I am more concerned with how it looks and feels down there. Often, my left testicle is hanging very low; way lower than my right which is not too pretty and, moreover, not too comfortable. I am waiting for my doctor's response to an ultrasound I did a week ago, after that we'll se whether something can be done.

So, did you have varicoceles on both sides of the scrotum? And how big did your doctor say the varicocele was? And can you still feel the varicocele at times, or is it completely gone?

Thanks again for your answer.
