Post a new topicby fungroo on Tue Dec 18, 2007 11:44 am

I was diagonised Varicocele today. I had pain in my left testicle, I got married 5 months ago. I dont know how this thing caught me. Does anybody have an idea of what causes varicocele It is not a regular pain, but still Im worried about whether this affects my Testesterone levels..!! Should I plan for a kid as soon as possible? Does this disfunction will be there throughout my life? Do I need a surgery?

I cannot give professional advice, only information based on my husband's experience. You should have sperm analysis as soon as possible to determine whether or not you can conceive a child. You can go to a urologist or buy an at home test from your pharmacy.

Depending upon the amount of motile sperm, you will most likely be able to have a child. If you have a low motile sperm count then you may want to consider surgery to remove the varicocele. If your motile sperm count is still low, you could also have IVF with ICSI when wanting to conceive a child.

My husband is an extremely rare case in which the varicocele left no motile sperm before and after corrective surgery. Your outcome will most likely be good, and even better after corrective surgery.

The surgery is somewhat painful, but my husband healed very quickly. Good luck.
