Ive been diagnosed with a varicocele on my left left side of scrotum and im 19yrs old. I was a bit worried about what was this varicocele but my urologist said sometimes it does not need treatment for it unless you are having a lot of pain or infertility. So my varicocele only hurts a little bit but it does hurt a few times. I wanted to ask a few question regarding varicoceles:

1) I do quite of drinking on the weekends with a couple of friends and i wanted to know if i can still drink alcohol with the varicocele and not affect it in anyway??

2) If i do have the surgery to treat the varicocele how long will it take for me to be able to drink alcohol again??

3) Will i be able to play intense sports like basketball football and weight lifting after i completely heal from the surgery??

4) Can i still have sexual activity with this varicocele or will that affect the varicocele??

Id really appreciate for the answers whoever had this experience :)

answer :"Drinking alcohol can reduce sperm count but does not affect varicoceles"

answer: Yes you can but you should wait about 2 - 6 weeks depending on how fast you heal.

4) Can i still have sexual activity with this varicocele or will that affect the varicocele??

answer: no it wont affect sexual activity it can hinder fertility though.

If you are having the pain its worth getting it corrected the earlier its dealt with the less likely it will impact fertility. Also after the surgery the pain goes away which is a good thing.

is it possible for the varicocele on my left side to cause a slight pain on my right scrotum as well, which i dont have anything on that side??
because sometimes i have just a little little pain on the right side as well, which makes me think its the varicocele on my left side.
